Over the past 14 years, I have designed and taught more than 20 Media courses in Italy, Spain, Brazil, Mexico, Russia, Singapore and UK. I specifically designed three new modules (Everyday Media, Audiences and Mass Communication, Mass Communication Industries) for Northumbria’s franchise partner in Singapore, without which Kaplan’s modules could have not started. In teaching I have been innovative, incorporating current research in digital media into taught modules. Much of the teaching materials used to support these activities has come from my research interests in new media. In my teaching, I endeavour to promote intellectual engagement by encouraging my students to read and think critically while exploring all issues from wider perspectives. My teaching spans from foundation year to MA course.
